Bella Italia So Beautiful!!

We had so much fun over the weekend seeing new things! On Friday we went with our sponsor Derek and his wife Julie and their kids to dinner in Kyllburg. We went to this really cool restaurant called Bella Italia with a river that runs next to it. There were huge fish in the water and lots of ducks for the kids to feed. They absolutely loved it. Also there is a huge castle there that you can see. It is a really cool little town. Looks like it's out of a storybook.

On Saturday we went to the Pig Festival at Wittlich. They roasted pigs on a spit and you could get a sandwich from the meat. It was pretty crazy. There were tons of people there and lots of carnival rides. Their rides are not like ours at all. They are so crazy. We went on the Bumper Cars and they were so fast, Av got whiplash and Kas had a black eye by the time we were done. And all of the kids were crying!! Kinda funny. They also had swings that were way high and a roller coaster that went around in circles over and over again. Made me wanna puke just watching it. These rides were totally nuts. And the Germans don't really care about safety. They think that if you are dumb enough to ride, it's your own fault if you get hurt. So there are no seatbelts or anything!

Then on Sunday we were so tired we decided to skip church and sleep in. Then in the afternoon we went on a drive to Trier. It's about half an hour from where we live. We got there and realized there was a Rally Car race going on. The streets were packed with people watching. So we decided to stay and watch for a while. It was really cool and we had never seen anything like it. There were Mini Coopers, Ford Focuses and some other little cars racing. They would get to the turn right in front of us going like 100 mph and power slide around the turn. Kason absolutely loved it. He thought it was so cool!! We stayed for a couple of hours and it ended. So we decided to drive around a little and see the town for a minute. Then we headed back to Spang. It was a great weekend. Lots of fun things to do. Now we are just looking forward to the next weekend.

I am getting adjusted finally to the time change and living in a foreign country. It is crazy how fast you learn when you have to. I take my drivers test on Friday. So then at least I will be able to drive. For now we just walk everywhere and go to the park during the day when we get bored. It will be nice to have a Drivers Liscense! Av starts school on Monday so we are just getting ready for that and running around base getting everything set up. I could do a whole post on that. It has been so crazy. Seems like everywhere you go, you don't have the right paperwork or right pass etc. So they send you to another place where they give you more paperwork! Ugh! I will be so glad when we are in our house with our own stuff. We do miss home though. It is hard being here with people you don't really know. Not the same as in little Cache Valley where everytime you go out you see someone you know. Makes you feel kinda small and insignificant. It is a weird feeling. I am sure once we get used to it, it will be fine. For now it is kinda strange. I can tell we will really like it here though once we get settled!! So love and hugs to you all from Germany!!

Our New Adventure!!

Our big Backyard!

Our New German House!!

Our New Car!!

I promised myself I would update this since we are starting a new adventure in our lives! We just arrived here in Germany and it is so awesome. Our first day we were so tired and groggy from the flight all night, but we are getting by. We stayed in the hotel on base our first night and now are in an apartment until we can move into our house on the 1st. Everything here is so green and flowers everywhere. The little villages are amazing and beautiful. We had dinner at a little Italian place in Kyllburg tonight. It had a river running by and a bridge with a castle in the back ground. Then we went into Speicher for spaghetti ice cream! I just keep asking myself "Do I really live here!" It is like living in a fairy tale land. The kids really seem to adjust well to all of the new things they are experiencing. They were so excited to go on the plane and they love seeing new sights. I think that once we are settled and I have my Drivers License it will be a great place to live. Everyone here is really cool, but in think in will need to learn some German. Just so I can communicate when we go off base. Here are some pics of our new house. It is so cute with a big backyard and plenty of rooms for us. They have just redone the whole house so it is all new inside and has new Stucco on the outside. Our landlord is German and very nice. He is even going to put in a carport for us for the new car! That is what we have done so far other than just everyday stuff, paperwork, and getting ID's. I am so glad to finally be here and see and experience a whole new lifestyle!

Well it's time to catch up on what we have been up to. This summer seemed so short, probably because we were so busy. But it was great. We did lots of fun stuff. Some of our favorite things were going to Bear Lake with our friends, going on the boat a lot, playing at the park and of course for Nick and I the Lady A & Tim McGraw concert. Here are the pics to prove it and to prove that we have not dropped off the planet!! Hopefully I can keep posting now that life has slowed down a little.

Disneyland 2010!!

So I have been such a slacker on blogging!! We had a great time in Disneyland this year. Avree was tall enough to ride almost all of the rides! She went on pretty much everything! Kason got to ride his first roller coaster and loved it! The kids were at such fun ages to go and loved all of the charachters. The weather was perfect. We just love Disneyland!! We also went to the beach one day. It was beautiful. We walked out on the pier and watched some of the surfers and just enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was hard to come home with all of the snow!! It was so fun to get to hang out with family, such great memories!!
